युक्ताश् पार्वतीयानां थाः पाषायोधिनाम्
शूराः ञ्चता राजञ् शैनेयं मुपाद्रवन्
तो स्रे हाते
द्विदानां स्रे द्विसास्रैश् वाजिभिः
र्षाणि मुञ्चन्तो विविधानि हाथाः
भ्यद्रन्त शैनेयम् संख्येयाश् त्तयः
तांश् संचोयन् र्वान् घ्नतैनम् ति भा
दुःशानो हारा सात्यक्तिं र्यवायत्

yuktāś ca rvanāṃ rathāḥ ṣāṇayodhinām ||
śūrāḥ pañcaśa jañ śaineyaṃ samudravan ||
tato rathasahasreṇa marathaśatena ca ||
dviranāṃ sahasreṇa dvihasraiś ca jibhiḥ ||
śaravarṣāṇi muñcanto vividhāni marathāḥ ||
abhyadravanta śaineyam asaṃkhyeś ca pattayaḥ ||
tāṃś ca saṃcodayan sarvān ghnatainam iti bhārata ||
duḥśāsano maja tyaktiṃ paryarayat ||

Translation

"And the equipped chariots of the mountaineers, the stone-throwing warriors, five hundred heroes, O king, rushed upon Shaineya. Then with a thousand chariots and a hundred great warriors, with a thousand elephants and two thousand horses, the great warriors, pouring out various showers of arrows, rushed upon Shaineya, along with countless foot-soldiers. And urging them all on — "Strike him down!", O Bharata — Duhshasana, O great king, surrounded Satyaki."
