अवश्यं तु मया कार्यम् आत्मनः शोकनाशनम् ॥
तस्माद् भीमं नियोक्ष्यामि सात्वतस्य पदानुगम् ॥
ततः प्रतिकृतं मन्ये विधानं सात्यकिं प्रति ॥
एवं निश्चित्य मनसा धर्मपुत्रो युधिष्ठिरः ॥
यन्तारम् अब्रवीद् राजन् भीमं प्रति नयस्व माम् ॥
धर्मराजवचः श्रुत्वा सारथिर् हयकोविदः ॥
रथं हेमपरिष्कारं भीमान्तिकम् उपानयत् ॥
भीमसेनम् अनुप्राप्य प्राप्तकालम् अनुस्मरन् ॥
कश्मलं प्राविशद् राजा बहु तत्र समादिशन् ॥

avaśyaṃ tu mayā kāryam ātmanaḥ śokanāśanam ||
tasmād bhīmaṃ niyokṣyāmi sātvatasya padānugam ||
tataḥ pratikṛtaṃ manye vidhānaṃ sātyakiṃ prati ||
evaṃ niścitya manasā dharmaputro yudhiṣṭhiraḥ ||
yantāram abravīd rājan bhīmaṃ prati nayasva mām ||
dharmarājavacaḥ śrutvā sārathir hayakovidaḥ ||
rathaṃ hemapariṣkāraṃ bhīmāntikam upānayat ||
bhīmasenam anuprāpya prāptakālam anusmaran ||
kaśmalaṃ prāviśad rājā bahu tatra samādiśan ||

Translation

"Surely I must accomplish the destruction of my own grief; therefore I shall appoint Bhima to follow Satvata." Having thus resolved in his mind, the son of Dharma, Yudhishthira, said to the charioteer, O king: "Drive me to Bhima." Having heard the word of the King of Dharma, the charioteer, skilled with horses, brought the gold-adorned chariot close to Bhima.
