भीमसेन उवाच
ब्रह्मेशानेन्द्रवरुणान् अवहद् यः पुरा रथः ॥
तम् आस्थाय गतौ कृष्णौ न तयोर् विद्यते भयम् ॥
आज्ञां तु शिरसा बिभ्रद् एष गच्छामि मा शुचः ॥
समेत्य तान् नरव्याघ्रांस् तव दास्यामि संविदम् ॥
संजय उवाच
एतावद् उक्त्वा प्रययौ परिदाय युधिष्ठिरम् ॥
धृष्टद्युम्नाय बलवान् सुहृद्भ्यश् च पुनः पुनः ॥
धृष्टद्युम्नं चेदम् आह भीमसेनो महाबलः ॥
bhīmasena uvāca
brahmeśānendravaruṇān avahad yaḥ purā rathaḥ ||
tam āsthāya gatau kṛṣṇau na tayor vidyate bhayam ||
ājñāṃ tu śirasā bibhrad eṣa gacchāmi mā śucaḥ ||
sametya tān naravyāghrāṃs tava dāsyāmi saṃvidam ||
saṃjaya uvāca
etāvad uktvā prayayau paridāya yudhiṣṭhiram ||
dhṛṣṭadyumnāya balavān suhṛdbhyaś ca punaḥ punaḥ ||
dhṛṣṭadyumnaṃ cedam āha bhīmaseno mahābalaḥ ||
"Mounting the chariot that of old bore Brahma, Ishana, Indra, and Varuna, the two Krishnas have gone forth — there is no fear for those two. But bearing your command upon my head, here I go, grieve not; having met those tigers among men, I shall send you a signal." Having said only this much, the mighty one set out, entrusting Yudhishthira again and again to Dhrishtadyumna and to his friends.

Bhima comforts his brother with the truth of faith: "gatau kṛṣṇau, na tayor vidyate bhayam" — where the two Krishnas ride the chariot of the gods, there is no fear. It is telling that trust in the Lord banishes anxiety for the beloved. The verse teaches that the surest comfort in fear for those near us is to remember they are with God: where the Lord abides, there is no room for dread, and it is enough for one who loves to know that the beloved stands under the protection of the Supreme.
