आरुजन् विरुजन् पार्थो ज्यां विकर्षंश् च पाणिना ॥
सो ऽवकर्षन् विकर्षंश् च सेनाग्रं समलोडयत् ॥
तं प्रयान्तं महाबाहुं पाञ्चालाः सहसोमकाः ॥
पृष्ठतो ऽनुययुः शूरा मघवन्तम् इवामराः ॥
तं ससेना महाराज सोदर्याः पर्यवारयन् ॥
दुःशलश् चित्रसेनश् च कुण्डभेदी विविंशतिः ॥
दुर्मुखो दुःसहश् चैव विकर्णश् च शलस् तथा ॥
विन्दानुविन्दौ सुमुखो दीर्घबाहुः सुदर्शनः ॥

ārujan virujan pārtho jyāṃ vikarṣaṃś ca pāṇinā ||
so 'vakarṣan vikarṣaṃś ca senāgraṃ samaloḍayat ||
taṃ prayāntaṃ mahābāhuṃ pāñcālāḥ sahasomakāḥ ||
pṛṣṭhato 'nuyayuḥ śūrā maghavantam ivāmarāḥ ||
taṃ sasenā mahārāja sodaryāḥ paryavārayan ||
duḥśalaś citrasenaś ca kuṇḍabhedī viviṃśatiḥ ||
durmukho duḥsahaś caiva vikarṇaś ca śalas tathā ||
vindānuvindau sumukho dīrghabāhuḥ sudarśanaḥ ||

Translation

Breaking and crushing, Partha, drawing the bowstring with his hand, pulling back and drawing, threw the vanguard of the army into turmoil. Him, advancing, mighty-armed, the Panchalas together with the Somakas, the heroes, followed from behind, as the immortals [follow] Maghavan. Him, with his troops, O great king, the full brothers surrounded -- Duhshala and Chitrasena, Kundabhedi and Vivimshati.
