था संवृतो भीमः प्रसन्न् भा
च्छद् दां तेभ्यो घोरां तां सिंवन् दन्
वासृजच् वेगे तेषु तान् प्रथद् ली
सेन्द्रानिर् वेन्द्रे प्रविद्धा संतात्मना
घोषे ता राजन् पूयित्वे मेदिनीम्
ज्वन्ती तेसा भीमा त्रायाम् ते सुतान्
तां न्तीं हावेगां दृष्ट्वा तेजोभिसंवृताम्
प्राद्रवंस् ताकाः र्वे न्तो भैवान् वान्
तं ब्दम् संह्यं स्याः संक्ष्य मारि
प्रातन् नुजास् त्र थेभ्यो थिनस् दा

sa tathā saṃvṛto bhīmaḥ prahasann iva bhārata ||
udayacchad gadāṃ tebhyo ghorāṃ tāṃ siṃhavan nadan ||
asṛjac ca vegena teṣu n pramathad ba ||
sendrāśanir ivendreṇa praviddhā saṃhatma ||
ghoṣeṇa maha jan pūrayitveva medinīm ||
jvalantī teja bhī trāsam āsa te sutān ||
tāṃ patantīṃ mavegāṃ dṛṣṭvā tejobhisaṃvṛtām ||
prādravaṃs tāvakāḥ sarve nadanto bhairan ravān ||
taṃ ca śabdam asaṃsahyaṃ tasyāḥ saṃlakṣya riṣa ||
prāpatan manus tatra rathebhyo rathinas ta ||

Translation

He, thus surrounded, Bhima, as though smiling, O Bharata, raised against them his terrible mace, roaring like a lion — like Indra's thunderbolt, hurled by resolute-hearted Indra, with a great roar, O king, as though filling the whole earth. Seeing it fall, swift and wrapped in radiance, all your men scattered, uttering terrible cries.
