कच्चिद् दुर्योधनो राजा फल्गुनेन निपातितम् ॥
दृष्ट्वा सैन्धवकं संख्ये शमम् अस्मासु धास्यति ॥
दृष्ट्वा विनिहतान् भ्रातॄन् भीमसेनेन संयुगे ॥
कच्चिद् दुर्योधनो मन्दः शमम् अस्मासु धास्यति ॥
दृष्ट्वा चान्यान् बहून् योधान् पातितान् धरणीतले ॥
कच्चिद् दुर्योधनो मन्दः पश्चात्तापं करिष्यति ॥

kaccid duryodhano rājā phalgunena nipātitam ||
dṛṣṭvā saindhavakaṃ saṃkhye śamam asmāsu dhāsyati ||
dṛṣṭvā vinihatān bhrātṝn bhīmasenena saṃyuge ||
kaccid duryodhano mandaḥ śamam asmāsu dhāsyati ||
dṛṣṭvā cānyān bahūn yodhān pātitān dharaṇītale ||
kaccid duryodhano mandaḥ paścāttāpaṃ kariṣyati ||

Translation

"Will King Duryodhana, having seen the Sindhu king felled by Phalguna in battle, make peace with us? Having seen his brothers slain by Bhimasena in battle, will dull-witted Duryodhana make peace with us? And having seen many other warriors felled to the ground, will dull-witted Duryodhana come to repentance?"
