येन शक्रं रणे जित्वा तर्पितो हव्यवाहनः ॥
स हन्ता द्विषतां संख्ये दिष्ट्या जीवति फल्गुनः ॥
यस्य बाहुबलं सर्वे वयम् आश्रित्य जीविताः ॥
स हन्ता रिपुसैन्यानां दिष्ट्या जीवति फल्गुनः ॥
निवातकवचा येन देवैर् अपि सुदुर्जयाः ॥
निर्जिता रथिनैकेन दिष्ट्या पार्थः स जीवति ॥
yena śakraṃ raṇe jitvā tarpito havyavāhanaḥ ||
sa hantā dviṣatāṃ saṃkhye diṣṭyā jīvati phalgunaḥ ||
yasya bāhubalaṃ sarve vayam āśritya jīvitāḥ ||
sa hantā ripusainyānāṃ diṣṭyā jīvati phalgunaḥ ||
nivātakavacā yena devair api sudurjayāḥ ||
nirjitā rathinaikena diṣṭyā pārthaḥ sa jīvati ||
"He by whom, having vanquished Shakra in battle, the Bearer of Fire [Agni] was satisfied, he, the slayer of foes in battle — by good fortune, Phalguna lives. He on whose arm's strength, relying, we all live, he, the destroyer of hostile armies — by good fortune, Phalguna lives. Those by whom the Nivatakavachas, hard to conquer even for the gods, were vanquished by a single charioteer — by good fortune, that Partha lives."

Yudhishthira recalls Arjuna's feats — Khandava, the Nivatakavachas: anxiety turns into grateful praise. "Yasya bāhubalam… vayam āśritya jīvitāḥ" — the brothers' very life rests on his strength of arm. It is telling that in the hour of joy, love recalls the greatness of the one held dear. The verse teaches that a grateful heart, finding the beloved alive, extols his past deeds: joy over one who is saved pours out into remembrance of his valor, and love turns into praise.
