स रणे व्यचरत् पार्थः प्रेक्षणीयो धनंजयः ॥
युगपद् दिक्षु सर्वासु चित्राण्य् अस्त्राणि दर्शयन् ॥
मध्यंदिनगतं सूर्यं प्रतपन्तम् इवाम्बरे ॥
न शेकुः सर्वभूतानि पाण्डवं प्रतिवीक्षितुम् ॥
प्रसृतांस् तस्य गाण्डीवाच् छरव्रातान् महात्मनः ॥
संग्रामे समपश्याम हंसपङ्क्तीर् इवाम्बरे ॥
विनिवार्य स वीराणाम् अस्त्रैर् अस्त्राणि सर्वशः ॥
दर्शयन् रौद्रम् आत्मानम् उग्रे कर्मणि धिष्ठितः ॥

sa raṇe vyacarat pārthaḥ prekṣaṇīyo dhanaṃjayaḥ ||
yugapad dikṣu sarvāsu citrāṇy astrāṇi darśayan ||
madhyaṃdinagataṃ sūryaṃ pratapantam ivāmbare ||
na śekuḥ sarvabhūtāni pāṇḍavaṃ prativīkṣitum ||
prasṛtāṃs tasya gāṇḍīvāc charavrātān mahātmanaḥ ||
saṃgrāme samapaśyāma haṃsapaṅktīr ivāmbare ||
vinivārya sa vīrāṇām astrair astrāṇi sarvaśaḥ ||
darśayan raudram ātmānam ugre karmaṇi dhiṣṭhitaḥ ||

Translation

He, worthy of the gaze, Partha Dhananjaya, raced through the battle, displaying wondrous astras at once in every direction. Like the midday sun blazing in the sky — no being could look upon the Pandava. We saw in battle the streams of arrows issuing from his, the great-souled one's, Gandiva, like rows of geese in the sky. Repelling with astras the astras of the heroes on every side, showing himself terrible, he stood fixed in fierce action.
