स मारुत इवाभ्राणि नाशयित्वार्जुनः सुरान् ॥
व्यधमच् छरसंपातैः प्राणिनः खाण्डवालयान् ॥
न च स्म किं चिच् छक्नोति भूतं निश्चरितुं ततः ॥
संछिद्यमानम् इषुभिर् अस्यता सव्यसाचिना ॥
नाशकंस् तत्र भूतानि महान्त्य् अपि रणे ऽर्जुनम् ॥
निरीक्षितुम् अमोघेषुं करिष्यन्ति कुतो रणम् ॥
sa māruta ivābhrāṇi nāśayitvārjunaḥ surān ||
vyadhamac charasaṃpātaiḥ prāṇinaḥ khāṇḍavālayān ||
na ca sma kiṃ cic chaknoti bhūtaṃ niścarituṃ tataḥ ||
saṃchidyamānam iṣubhir asyatā savyasācinā ||
nāśakaṃs tatra bhūtāni mahānty api raṇe 'rjunam ||
nirīkṣitum amogheṣuṃ kariṣyanti kuto raṇam ||
"Arjuna, like the wind scattering clouds, having driven off the gods, scattered with torrents of arrows the creatures, the dwellers of Khandava; and not a single being could escape from there, as it was being cut down by the arrows loosed by Savyasachin; the creatures there, even the great ones, could not behold Arjuna in battle, him with unerring arrows; whence then could they wage battle?"

Here Arjuna's power is such that none can even look upon him. It is telling that the enemies are unable even to behold him: the gaze of the ordinary cannot withstand one favored from above. In this it is seen that the radiance of one sheltered by the Lord blinds the adversary. So does scripture show Arjuna's irresistibility; and this feat is terrible indeed, for no creature escapes it.
