तस्याम् उपासते नित्यम्tasyām upāsate nityamin that hall they always honor
महात्मानम् शतक्रतुम्mahātmānam śatakratumthe great-souled Shatakratu [Indra]
मरुतः सर्वतः राजन्marutaḥ sarvataḥ rājanthe Maruts from all sides, O king,
सर्वे च गृह-मेधिनःsarve ca gṛha-medhinaḥand all householder-sacrificers,
सिद्धाः देव-ऋषयः च एवsiddhāḥ deva-ṛṣayaḥ ca evathe siddhas and divine seers,
साध्याः देव-गणाः तथाsādhyāḥ deva-gaṇāḥ tathāthe sadhyas and hosts of gods;
एते स-अनुचराः सर्वेete sa-anucarāḥ sarveall of them with their attendants,
दिव्य-रूपाः सु-अलंकृताःdivya-rūpāḥ su-alaṃkṛtāḥof divine form, well adorned,
उपासते महात्मानम्upāsate mahātmānamhonor the great-souled

Here among the celestials are named the 'householder-sacrificers': heaven is populated not only by renunciants but also by those who faithfully carried out household duty and sacrifice. It is significant that the path to the heavens is open to the householder who honors dharma as well. Thus the scripture shows that the good deeds of a householder raise him no lower than austerity; and next comes the host of sinless seers.
