विना हंसेन लोके अस्मिन्vinā haṃsena loke asmin"Without Hamsa in this world
न अहम् जीवितुम् उत्सहेna aham jīvitum utsaheI have not the strength to live," —
इति एताम् मतिम् आस्थायiti etām matim āsthāyahaving taken up this thought,
डिभकः निधनम् गतःḍibhakaḥ nidhanam gataḥDibhaka gave himself to death;
तथा तु डिभकम् श्रुत्वाtathā tu ḍibhakam śrutvāand hearing of Dibhaka,
हंसः पर-पुरं-जयःhaṃsaḥ para-puraṃ-jayaḥHamsa, conqueror of enemy cities,
प्रपेदे यमुनाम् एवprapede yamunām evahastened to the Yamuna
सः अपि तस्याम् न्यमज्जतsaḥ api tasyām nyamajjataand he too plunged into it;

Here the pillars of the tyrant fall — not struck down by an enemy but destroyed by themselves.
