संजय उवाच
सलिले जनिते तस्मिन् कौन्तेयेन महात्मना ॥
निवारिते द्विषत्सैन्ये कृते च शरवेश्मनि ॥
वासुदेवो रथात् तूर्णम् अवतीर्य महाद्युतिः ॥
मोचयाम् आस तुरगान् वितुन्नान् कङ्कपत्रिभिः ॥
अदृष्टपूर्वं तद् दृष्ट्वा सिंहनादो महान् अभूत् ॥
सिद्धचारणसंघानां सैनिकानां च सर्वशः ॥
saṃjaya uvāca
salile janite tasmin kaunteyena mahātmanā ||
nivārite dviṣatsainye kṛte ca śaraveśmani ||
vāsudevo rathāt tūrṇam avatīrya mahādyutiḥ ||
mocayām āsa turagān vitunnān kaṅkapatribhiḥ ||
adṛṣṭapūrvaṃ tad dṛṣṭvā siṃhanādo mahān abhūt ||
siddhacāraṇasaṃghānāṃ sainikānāṃ ca sarvaśaḥ ||
When that water had been drawn forth by Kaunteya, the great soul, when the enemy army was repelled and a house of arrows was made, Vasudeva, most radiant, swiftly descending from the chariot, unyoked the horses wounded by heron-feathered arrows. Having seen that unseen-before sight, a great lion's roar arose among the hosts of siddhas and charanas, and among the warriors everywhere.

The Lord Himself descends and unyokes the wounded horses — 'mocayām āsa turagān vitunnān.' The sight is 'adṛṣṭapūrvam,' unseen before: the Lord of the worlds serves the horses in the midst of battle. It is telling that heaven itself (the siddhas and charanas) answers with a roar of wonder. The verse teaches the Lord's boundless humility: He does not disdain the heaviest and lowliest labor, out of mercy; and what astonishes the very heavens is not His might but His readiness to serve — even to unyoke and tend wounded horses.
