तस्मात् सर्वान् उपासङ्गान् सर्वोपकरणानि च ॥
रथे कुर्वन्तु मे राजन् यथावद् रथकल्पकाः ॥
अस्मिंस् तु खलु संग्रामे ग्राह्यं विविधम् आयुधम् ॥
यथोपदिष्टम् आचार्यैः कार्यः पञ्चगुणो रथः ॥
काम्बोजैर् हि समेष्यामि क्रुद्धैर् आशीविषोपमैः ॥
नानाशस्त्रसमावापैर् विविधायुधयोधिभिः ॥
tasmāt sarvān upāsaṅgān sarvopakaraṇāni ca ||
rathe kurvantu me rājan yathāvad rathakalpakāḥ ||
asmiṃs tu khalu saṃgrāme grāhyaṃ vividham āyudham ||
yathopadiṣṭam ācāryaiḥ kāryaḥ pañcaguṇo rathaḥ ||
kāmbojair hi sameṣyāmi kruddhair āśīviṣopamaiḥ ||
nānāśastrasamāvāpair vividhāyudhayodhibhiḥ ||
“Therefore let the chariot-makers duly arrange on my chariot all the quivers and all the equipment, o king. For indeed in this battle one must take varied weapons, as instructed by the teachers, and the chariot must be equipped fivefold. For I shall meet the Kambojas — enraged, like vipers, equipped with varied weapons, striking with varied arms.”

Satyaki prepares with care — the chariot must be equipped fivefold, as the teachers have enjoined. His confidence does not set aside prudent preparation. It is telling that valor here joins with foresight. The verse teaches that courage without readiness is rash: the true warrior, even while trusting his own strength, does not neglect due equipment; the resolve to go into battle and careful preparation for it do not contradict but complete each other.
