ताभ्याम् ऊर्जितवीर्याभ्याम् आप्यायितपराक्रमः ॥
सहितः कृष्णभीमाभ्यां शिनीनाम् ऋषभेण च ॥
तदा प्रभृति मा शोको दहत्य् अग्निर् इवाशयम् ॥
ग्रस्तान् हि प्रतिपश्यामि भूमिपालान् ससैन्धवान् ॥

Traducción
"Though [the army] was reinforced by those two mighty in valor [Drona and Karna], Arjuna, joined with Krishna and Bhima and with the bull of Shini [Satyaki], entered it. Since then grief has burned me like fire burns a home; for I see the kings, together with Saindhava [Jayadratha], engulfed [by fate]."

Grief burns the king like fire burns a home — he already foresees the ruin of all he has drawn into this war, and of Jayadratha himself. It is telling that the might of Drona and Karna does not save: the unity of those who love one another — Krishna, Bhima, Satyaki around Arjuna — overcomes every defense. The verse teaches that the solidarity of the righteous is stronger than the greatest defenders of a wrongful cause; and foresight of disaster, arriving too late, only sears the heart of the one who could have averted it.
