Then those two, best of warriors, archers of the whole world, rushed against the Parthas headed by Shaineya in the battle. Likewise the Parthas, together, surrounded by their own army, advanced against those two heroes, roaring again and again. Then Drona, the great archer, enraged, best of all weapon-bearers, swiftly pierced the bull of the line of Shini [Satyaki] with ten arrows. And Karna with ten arrows, and your son with seven, and Vrishasena with ten, and Saubala too with seven [pierced Satyaki].

Five of the greatest strike at one Satyaki -- once again, many array against a lone valor. It is telling that Duryodhana's reproach is at once turned into deed: teacher and friend fight with fury. The verse teaches that a warrior's wounded honor pours out into a furious onslaught; and the worthy, stung by reproach, unleash their strength not upon the one who reproached them but upon the enemy -- turning insult into weapon, though the cause they serve is not worth it.
