गन्धर्व उवाच
इत्य् उक्तः सविता तेन ददानीत्य् एव निश्चितः ॥
प्रत्यभाषत तं विप्रं प्रतिनन्द्य दिवाकरः ॥
वरः संवरणो राज्ञां त्वम् ऋषीणां वरो मुने ॥
तपती योषितां श्रेष्ठा किम् अन्यत्रापवर्जनात् ॥

अनुवाद
The gandharva said: "Thus asked by him, Surya, having resolved 'I shall give her,' replied to that vipra, greeting him joyfully." Surya said: "The best of kings is Samvarana, you are the best of sages, O muni; Tapati is the best of women — what else is there but to give her?"

Here is shown the joy of consent, where worth meets worth. Surya's words are telling: the best king, the best matchmaker, the best maiden — a union so complete in itself that it calls for no deliberation. This is the law by which like draws to like: the good readily unites with the good. Thus the scripture shows that a marriage of the worthy, sealed by a holy intermediary, is blessed without hesitation; and Surya gladly gives his daughter.
