एवं विक्रोशमानायास् तस्याः स सुनृशंसकृत् ॥
भर्तारं भक्षयाम् आस व्याघ्रो मृगम् इवेप्सितम् ॥
तस्याः क्रोधाभिभूताया यद् अश्रु न्यपतद् भुवि ॥
सो ऽग्निः समभवद् दीप्तस् तं च देशं व्यदीपयत् ॥

so 'gniḥ samabhavad dīptas taṃ ca deśaṃ vyadīpayat ||

भर्तारं भक्षयाम् आस व्याघ्रः मृगम् इव ईप्सितम्bhartāraṃ bhakṣayām āsa vyāghraḥ mṛgam iva īpsitamdevoured her husband, as a tiger [devours] its coveted prey;
तस्याः क्रोधाभिभूतायाः यत् अश्रु न्यपतत् भुविtasyāḥ krodhābhibhūtāyāḥ yat aśru nyapatat bhuviher tears, [those] that fell to the ground, she being overcome with wrath,
सः अग्निः समभवत् दीप्तः तं च देशं व्यदीपयत्saḥ agniḥ samabhavat dīptaḥ taṃ ca deśaṃ vyadīpayatturned into blazing fire and lit up [/scorched] that region;
