वैशंपायन उवाच
ततो राज्ञां चरैर् आप्तैश् चारः समुपनीयत ॥
पाण्डवैर् उपसंपन्ना द्रौपदी पतिभिः शुभा ॥
येन तद् धनुर् आयम्य लक्ष्यं विद्धं महात्मना ॥
सो ऽर्जुनो जयतां श्रेष्ठो महाबाणधनुर्धरः ॥
vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca
tato rājñāṃ carair āptaiś cāraḥ samupanīyata ||
pāṇḍavair upasaṃpannā draupadī patibhiḥ śubhā ||
yena tad dhanur āyamya lakṣyaṃ viddhaṃ mahātmanā ||
so 'rjuno jayatāṃ śreṣṭho mahābāṇadhanurdharaḥ ||
Vaishampayana said: "Then the news was brought by the kings' trusted spies that the auspicious Draupadi had become the wife of the Pandavas; he who, having strung the bow, pierced the target, the great-souled one — is Arjuna, best of conquerors, bearer of the great bow and arrows."

Here what was hidden becomes manifest: the glory of the righteous comes to light. It is telling that spies carry the news of Arjuna's feat — the truth about the great cannot be concealed; it spreads of itself. Here it is revealed that Providence, in its own time, shows the world its hidden chosen ones. Thus scripture reveals the unstoppable spread of good fame; and the Pandavas, thought burned to death, turn out to be alive and victorious.
