ततो दुर्योधनश् चैव राधेयश् च विशां पते ॥
धृतराष्ट्रम् उपागम्य वचो ऽब्रूताम् इदं तदा ॥
संनिधौ विदुरस्य त्वां वक्तुं नृप न शक्नुवः ॥
विविक्तम् इति वक्ष्यावः किं तवेदं चिकीर्षितम् ॥

धृतराष्ट्रम् उपागम्य वचः अब्रूताम् इदं तदाdhṛtarāṣṭram upāgamya vacaḥ abrūtām idaṃ tadāhaving approached Dhritarashtra, then spoke this word:

Here evil intent flees the light and seeks secrecy. It is telling that the conspirators cannot speak in Vidura's presence: falsehood shies away from a righteous witness and seeks solitude. Here appears a sure sign of evil: what hides from honest eyes is itself unclean. Thus scripture reveals the habit of deceit; and the very presence of the righteous exposes the wicked design.
