संप्रीयमाणं त्वां ब्रूयाद् राजन् दूर्योधनं तथा ॥
असकृद् द्रुपदे चैव धृष्टद्युम्ने च भारत ॥
उचितत्वं प्रियत्वं च योगस्यापि च वर्णयेत् ॥
पुनः पुनश् च कौन्तेयान् माद्रीपुत्रौ च सान्त्वयन् ॥

Here reconciliation is wrought through gentle and respectful speech. It is significant that Drona instructs that the Pandavas and Drupada be "won over" by kind treatment: peace is built by gentleness, not by threat. Thus scripture shows that a mild word opens hearts and heals discord. Thus scripture shows the power of conciliatory speech; and the path to concord is paved with goodwill.
