Here the righteous man utters a prophetic warning. It is telling that Drona foretells the swift destruction of the Kurus should dharma be rejected: the trampling of truth brings the ruin of a lineage. Here it is revealed that the word of the wise, once spurned, turns into a fulfilled prophecy: Kurukshetra will confirm it. Thus the verse reveals Drona's dire warning; and rejected dharma will become the sentence passed upon the Kauravas.
