जरितोवाच
अहं हि तं प्रजानामि हृतं श्येनेन मूषकम् ॥
अत एव भयं नास्ति क्रियतां वचनं मम ॥

Here a mother insists on obedience to her word. It is telling that Jarita, being certain, demands trust: one who loves wants to be believed for the sake of saving those she loves. Here is a clash between a mother's certainty and her children's caution. So the scripture shows Jarita's insistence; and the children's answer will rise above the dispute over the mouse, ascending to self-renunciation.
