"Shining, as though blazing with its own splendor, O Bharata; to it go fierce ascetics — true to their vows, speakers of truth, peaceful, renunciants, siddhas, purified by holy deeds, all with luminous bodies and in spotless garments, with colorful armlets and garlands, with blazing earrings, adorned with their good deeds as with ornaments."

Here it is said outright: they are "adorned with deeds, as with ornaments." It is significant that the true ornament of the righteous is not earrings and garlands but good deeds: by these, not by gold, the soul shines in the world above. Thus the scripture reveals good deeds as the true adornment; and further comes the heavenly joy of the hall.
