त्वम् इमं पुण्डरीकाक्षम् अप्रधृष्यं दुरासदम् ॥
पापैः सहायैः संहत्य निग्रहीतुं किलेच्छसि ॥
यो न शक्यो बलात्कर्तुं देवैर् अपि सवासवैः ॥
तं त्वं प्रार्थयसे मन्द बालश् चन्द्रमसं यथा ॥
देवैर् मनुष्यैर् गन्धर्वैर् असुरैर् उरगैश् च यः ॥
न सोढुं समरे शक्यस् तं न बुध्यसि केशवम् ॥
दुर्ग्रहः पाणिना वायुर् दुःस्पर्शः पाणिना शशी ॥
दुर्धरा पृथिवी मूर्ध्ना दुर्ग्रहः केशवो बलात् ॥
इत्य् उक्ते धृतराष्ट्रेण क्षत्तापि विदुरो ऽब्रवीत् ॥
दुर्योधनम् अभिप्रेक्ष्य धार्तराष्ट्रम् अमर्षणम् ॥

pāpaiḥ sahāyaiḥ saṃhatya nigrahītuṃ kilecchasi ||
yo na śakyo balātkartuṃ devair api savāsavaiḥ ||

devair manuṣyair gandharvair asurair uragaiś ca yaḥ ||
na soḍhuṃ samare śakyas taṃ na budhyasi keśavam ||
durgrahaḥ pāṇinā vāyur duḥsparśaḥ pāṇinā śaśī ||
durdharā pṛthivī mūrdhnā durgrahaḥ keśavo balāt ||
ity ukte dhṛtarāṣṭreṇa kṣattāpi viduro 'bravīt ||
duryodhanam abhiprekṣya dhārtarāṣṭram amarṣaṇam ||
"You, having joined with wicked helpers, truly wish to take into custody this lotus-eyed Krishna — unassailable and unattainable. Him whom even the gods together with Indra cannot compel by force, you, O fool, try to reach, as a child reaches for the moon. That Keshava, whom gods, men, gandharvas, asuras, and serpents cannot withstand in battle, you do not understand. It is hard to grasp the wind with the hand, hard to touch the moon with the hand, hard to hold the earth upon one's head, and just as hard to seize Keshava by force." When Dhritarashtra had said this, the kshatta Vidura, looking at the impatient Duryodhana, son of Dhritarashtra, spoke as well.
