Vaishampayana said: When Vidura had spoken thus, the mighty Keshava, destroyer of hosts of foes, addressed Duryodhana, the son of Dhritarashtra: "O Suyodhana, in your delusion you think, 'I am alone,' and, scorning me, O evil-minded one, you wish to seize me. But here, indeed, are all the Pandavas, and here too the Andhakas and Vrishnis; here are the Adityas, the Rudras, the Vasus, and the great rishis." Having said this, Keshava, the slayer of enemy heroes, laughed loudly. As the great Shauri smiled, gods the size of a thumb, having the form of lightning, came forth from him and emitted tongues of fire. On his forehead stood Brahma, and on his chest appeared Rudra; the guardians of the worlds were present in his arms, and Agni was born from his mouth.

Krishna answers not with a threat but by disclosing reality: Duryodhana thinks to seize a single envoy, yet before him stands the one in whom the Pandavas, the Yadavas, the gods, and the guardians of the worlds are all present. Krishna's laughter dismantles the very premise of the plot — the notion that He can be isolated and coerced.
