'Those who know day and night understand that the day of Brahma lasts a thousand yugas and his night ends after a thousand yugas. With the coming of day, all manifest beings arise from the unmanifest, and with the coming of night they dissolve into that same unmanifest. This very multitude of beings, arising again and again, helplessly dissolves at the coming of night, O son of Pritha, and manifests again at the coming of day. But beyond this unmanifest there is another, eternal unmanifest being: when all beings perish, it does not perish. It is called the unmanifest and the imperishable, the supreme goal; having attained it, none return. This is My supreme abode. O son of Pritha, this Supreme Person, within whom all beings dwell and by whom all this is pervaded, is attainable only through undivided bhakti.'

Even the vastest cosmic cycles remain time, and therefore return. Krishna points to His own supreme abode and to the Supreme Purusha, who both contains everything and surpasses everything; entry there is opened not by calculating time but by undivided devotion.
