अर्जुन उवाच
द्रोणेनैषा मतिः कृष्ण धार्तराष्ट्रे निवेशिता ॥
अन्ते विहितम् अस्त्राणाम् एतत् कवचधारणम् ॥
अस्मिन्न् अन्तर्हितं कृष्ण त्रैलोक्यम् अपि वर्मणि ॥
एको द्रोणो हि वेदैतद् अहं तस्माच् च सत्तमात् ॥

droṇenaiṣā matiḥ kṛṣṇa dhārtarāṣṭre niveśitā ||
ante vihitam astrāṇām etat kavacadhāraṇam ||
asminn antarhitaṃ kṛṣṇa trailokyam api varmaṇi ||
eko droṇo hi vedaitad ahaṃ tasmāc ca sattamāt ||

एतत् कवचधारणम्etat kavacadhāraṇamthis donning of armor; this putting on of the mail
अस्मिन् अन्तर्हितम् कृष्णasmin antarhitam kṛṣṇain this concealed, Krishna; hidden within this [armor], Krishna
त्रैलोक्यम् अपि वर्मणिtrailokyam api varmaṇieven the three worlds in the armor; even the three worlds — within this mail
एकः द्रोणः हि वेद एतत्ekaḥ droṇaḥ hi veda etatfor Drona alone knows this; for one alone, Drona, knows it
अहम् तस्मात् च सत्तमात्aham tasmāt ca sattamātand I — from that most excellent one; and I — from that most worthy one
अनुवाद

"By Drona, Krishna, this design was instilled in the son of Dhritarashtra; this donning of armor is what is ordained at the close of the science of weapons. In it, Krishna, in this mail, even the three worlds are concealed; for Drona alone knows this, and I learned it from that most excellent one."
