संजय उवाच
प्रयाते तव सैन्यं तु युयुधाने युयुत्सया ॥
धर्मराजो महाराज स्वेनानीकेन संवृतः ॥
प्रायाद् द्रोणरथप्रेप्सुर् युयुधानस्य पृष्ठतः ॥
ततः पाञ्चालराजस्य पुत्रः समरदुर्मदः ॥
प्राक्रोशत् पाण्डवानीके वसुदानश् च पार्थिवः ॥
आगच्छत प्रहरत द्रुतं विपरिधावत ॥
यथा सुखेन गच्छेत सात्यकिर् युद्धदुर्मदः ॥
महारथा हि बहवो यतिष्यन्त्य् अस्य निर्जये ॥
इति ब्रुवन्तो वेगेन समापेतुर् बलं तव ॥

āgacchata praharata drutaṃ viparidhāvata ||
yathā sukhena gaccheta sātyakir yuddhadurmadaḥ ||
mahārathā hi bahavo yatiṣyanty asya nirjaye ||
iti bruvanto vegena samāpetur balaṃ tava ||
When Yuyudhana, thirsting for battle, rushed into your army, the King of Dharma, O great king, was surrounded by his own detachment. Then the son of the king of Panchala, fierce in battle, and King Vasudana cried out in the army of the Pandavas: "Come forward, strike, quickly scatter to the flanks, so that Satyaki, fierce in battle, may pass easily, for many great warriors will strive to overcome him." So saying, they closed with your army with great swiftness.

The Pandavas hasten to clear the way for a friend -- "yathā sukhena gaccheta sātyakiḥ": one man's task becomes the concern of many. It is telling that Satyaki's breakthrough is prepared not by him alone but by the united effort of the whole camp. The verse teaches that a single hero's feat rests on the support of his kinsmen: where there is brotherhood, all clear the path for the self-sacrificing one, and solitary valor is made whole by shared care for its success.
