युधामन्युस् तु संक्रुद्धः शरांस् त्रिंशतम् आयसान् ॥
व्यसृजत् तव पुत्रस्य त्वरमाणः स्तनान्तरे ॥
दुर्योधनो ऽपि राजेन्द्र पाञ्चाल्यस्योत्तमौजसः ॥
जघान चतुरश् चाश्वान् उभौ च पार्ष्णिसारथी ॥
उत्तमौजा हताश्वस् तु हतसूतश् च संयुगे ॥
आरुरोह रथं भ्रातुर् युधामन्योर् अभित्वरन् ॥
स रथं प्राप्य तं भ्रातुर् दुर्योधनहयाञ् शरैः ॥
बहुभिस् ताडयाम् आस ते हताः प्रापतन् भुवि ॥
yudhāmanyus tu saṃkruddhaḥ śarāṃs triṃśatam āyasān ||
vyasṛjat tava putrasya tvaramāṇaḥ stanāntare ||
duryodhano 'pi rājendra pāñcālyasyottamaujasaḥ ||
jaghāna caturaś cāśvān ubhau ca pārṣṇisārathī ||
uttamaujā hatāśvas tu hatasūtaś ca saṃyuge ||
āruroha rathaṃ bhrātur yudhāmanyor abhitvaran ||
sa rathaṃ prāpya taṃ bhrātur duryodhanahayāñ śaraiḥ ||
bahubhis tāḍayām āsa te hatāḥ prāpatan bhuvi ||
Yudhamanyu, however, enraged, hastening, loosed thirty iron arrows [into] the chest of your son. Duryodhana, however, O lord of kings, slew the four horses of the Panchalian Uttamaujas and both flank charioteers. Uttamaujas, [with] his horses slain and [his] charioteer slain in the battle, mounted, hastening, the chariot of his brother Yudhamanyu.

The Panchalian brothers fight as one: having lost his chariot, Uttamaujas mounts his brother's. It is telling that the bond of brotherhood strengthens them in battle. The verse teaches that kinship devoted to a righteous cause is strength: where brothers stand shoulder to shoulder, the loss of one is made good by the support of the other, and the unity of kin serving dharma overcomes misfortune.
