देवनागरी

नारायणाय मे पित्रा प्रणम्य विधिपूर्वकम् ॥
उपहारः पुरा दत्तो ब्रह्मरूप उपस्थिते ॥
तं स्वयं प्रतिगृह्याथ भगवान् स वरं ददौ ॥
वव्रे पिता मे परमम् अस्त्रं नारायणं ततः ॥
अथैनम् अब्रवीद् राजन् भगवान् देवसत्तमः ॥
भविता त्वत्समो नान्यः कश् चिद् युधि नरः क्व चित् ॥

nārāyaṇāya me pitrā praṇamya vidhipūrvakam ||
upahāraḥ purā datto brahmarūpa upasthite ||
taṃ svayaṃ pratigṛhyātha bhagavān sa varaṃ dadau ||
vavre pitā me paramam astraṃ nārāyaṇaṃ tataḥ ||
athainam abravīd rājan bhagavān devasattamaḥ ||
bhavitā tvatsamo nānyaḥ kaś cid yudhi naraḥ kva cit ||

अनुवाद

My father, having bowed before Narayana according to rite, once made an offering when he appeared in the form of a brahmin. Receiving it himself, the Bhagavan then granted a boon; my father chose the supreme weapon—Narayana. Then the Bhagavan, best of the gods, said to him, O king: 'There will be no man equal to you in battle, anywhere.'
