एवम् उक्त्वा ततः कृष्णो रथाद् भूमिम् अपातयत् ॥
निःश्वसन्तं यथा नागं क्रोधसंरक्तलोचनम् ॥
यदापकृष्टः स रथान् न्यासितश् चायुधं भुवि ॥
ततो नारायणास्त्रं तत् प्रशान्तं शत्रुतापनम् ॥
तस्मिन् प्रशान्ते विधिना तदा तेजसि दुःसहे ॥
बभूवुर् विमलाः सर्वा दिशः प्रदिश एव च ॥

evam uktvā tataḥ kṛṣṇo rathād bhūmim apātayat ||
niḥśvasantaṃ yathā nāgaṃ krodhasaṃraktalocanam ||
yadāpakṛṣṭaḥ sa rathān nyāsitaś cāyudhaṃ bhuvi ||
tato nārāyaṇāstraṃ tat praśāntaṃ śatrutāpanam ||
tasmin praśānte vidhinā tadā tejasi duḥsahe ||
babhūvur vimalāḥ sarvā diśaḥ pradiśa eva ca ||

शब्दशः अर्थ

रथात् भूमिम् अपातयत्rathāt bhūmim apātayatbrought [him] down from the chariot to the ground; led [him] down from the chariot to the ground
निःश्वसन्तम् यथा नागम्niḥśvasantam yathā nāgamsighing like a serpent; hissing like a serpent
क्रोधसंरक्तलोचनम्krodhasaṃraktalocanamwith eyes reddened by anger; with eyes suffused with anger
यदा अपकृष्टः सः रथात्yadā apakṛṣṭaḥ saḥ rathātwhen he was dragged from the chariot; when he was brought down from the chariot
न्यासितः च आयुधम् भुविnyāsitaḥ ca āyudham bhuviand the weapon was laid down upon the ground; and the weapon was laid down upon the ground
ततः नारायणास्त्रम् तत्tataḥ nārāyaṇāstram tatthen that Narayana weapon; then that Narayana weapon
प्रशान्तम् शत्रुतापनम्praśāntam śatrutāpanamwas pacified, the scorcher of foes; grew still, the scorcher of foes
तस्मिन् प्रशान्ते विधिनाtasmin praśānte vidhināwhen pacified according to the rule; when it grew still according to the rite
तदा तेजसि दुःसहेtadā tejasi duḥsahethen the unbearable heat; then the unbearable heat
बभूवुः विमलाः सर्वाःbabhūvuḥ vimalāḥ sarvāḥall became clear; all became pure
दिशः प्रदिशः एव चdiśaḥ pradiśaḥ eva cathe quarters and the intermediate quarters; the quarters and the spaces between the quarters
अनुवाद

Having said this, Krishna then brought [Bhima] down from the chariot to the ground, sighing like a serpent, with eyes reddened by anger. When he was dragged from the chariot and the weapon was laid down upon the ground, then that Narayana weapon, the scorcher of foes, was pacified. When that unbearable heat was pacified according to the rule, all the quarters and the intermediate quarters became clear.
