स भवान् देववत् प्राज्ञो ज्ञात्वा भवमयं जगत् ॥
अवाकर्षस् त्वम् आत्मानं नियमैस् तत्प्रियेप्सया ॥
शुभम् और्वं नवं कृत्वा महापुरुषविग्रहम् ॥
ईजिवांस् त्वं जपैर् होमैर् उपहारैश् च मानद ॥
स तथा पूज्यमानस् ते पूर्वदेवो ऽप्य् अतूतुषत् ॥
पुष्कलांश् च वरान् प्रादात् तव विद्वन् हृदि स्थितान् ॥
जन्मकर्मतपोयोगास् तयोस् तव च पुष्कलाः ॥
ताभ्यां लिङ्गे ऽर्चितो देवस् त्वयार्चायां युगे युगे ॥

sa bhavān devavat prājño jñātvā bhavamayaṃ jagat ||
avākarṣas tvam ātmānaṃ niyamais tatpriyepsayā ||
śubham aurvaṃ navaṃ kṛtvā mahāpuruṣavigraham ||
ījivāṃs tvaṃ japair homair upahāraiś ca mānada ||
sa tathā pūjyamānas te pūrvadevo 'py atūtuṣat ||
puṣkalāṃś ca varān prādāt tava vidvan hṛdi sthitān ||
janmakarmatapoyogās tayos tava ca puṣkalāḥ ||
tābhyāṃ liṅge 'rcito devas tvayārcāyāṃ yuge yuge ||

सः भवान् देववत् प्राज्ञःsaḥ bhavān devavat prājñaḥyou, like a god, wise; you, like a god, wise
ज्ञात्वा भवमयम् जगत्jñātvā bhavamayam jagathaving known that the world consists of Bhava; having known that the world is filled with Bhava [Shiva]
अवाकर्षः त्वम् आत्मानम्avākarṣaḥ tvam ātmānamyou drew [subdued] yourself; you restrained yourself
नियमैः तत्प्रियेप्सयाniyamaiḥ tatpriyepsayāby vows, desiring his favor; by vows, seeking his favor
शुभम् और्वम् नवम् कृत्वाśubham aurvam navam kṛtvāhaving fashioned an auspicious, new [image]; having fashioned an auspicious, new [image]
महापुरुषविग्रहम्mahāpuruṣavigraham[the image] of the great Purusha; [the image] of the great Purusha
ईजिवान् त्वम् जपैः होमैःījivān tvam japaiḥ homaiḥyou worshipped with japa, with homas; you worshipped with japa, with libations
उपहारैः च मानदupahāraiḥ ca mānadaand with offerings, O bestower of honor; and with offerings, O bestower of honor
सः तथा पूज्यमानः तेsaḥ tathā pūjyamānaḥ tehe, thus honored by you; he, thus revered by you
पूर्वदेवः अपि अतूतुषत्pūrvadevaḥ api atūtuṣatthe ancient god, rejoiced; the ancient god, rejoiced
पुष्कलान् च वरान् प्रादात्puṣkalān ca varān prādātand gave abundant boons; and gave abundant boons
तव विद्वन् हृदि स्थितान्tava vidvan hṛdi sthitāndwelling in your heart, O knowing one; desired in your heart, O knowing one

अनुवाद

"You, wise as a god, having known that the world consists of Bhava [Shiva], subdued yourself by vows, desiring to win his favor. Having fashioned a new and auspicious image, the image of the great Purusha, you worshipped him with japa, with homas, and with offerings, O bestower of honor. He, thus honored by you, the ancient god, rejoiced, and gave you abundant boons, O knowing one, dwelling [desired] in your heart. Birth, action, austerity, and yoga are abundant in those two [Nara-Narayana] and in you; by those two the god is worshipped in the linga, by you in the image [arca], from age to age."
