Here valor meets its deserved praise. It is telling that the warriors praise Karna for warding off that rain of arrows: even an enemy who fights worthily earns honor. Here it is seen that valor is honored for its own sake, whichever side it belongs to. Thus the verse shows recognition of courage; and Karna, having beaten back the arrows of the incomparable one, is justly exalted.
