धृष्टद्युम्नस् तु पाञ्चाल्यः पृष्ठतः कुरुनन्दनौ ॥
अन्वगच्छत् तदा यान्तौ भार्गवस्य निवेशनम् ॥
सो ऽज्ञायमानः पुरुषान् अवधाय समन्ततः ॥
स्वयम् आरान् निविष्टो ऽभूद् भार्गवस्य निवेशने ॥

Here a brother keeps watch over his sister's fate. It is telling that Dhrishtadyumna secretly follows the victor: he needs to know into whose hands his sister has fallen, and concern for her lot drives him to this vigil. Here is the good care of kin — a brother is not indifferent to the one entrusted with his sister. So the scripture reveals Dhrishtadyumna's solicitude, and his hidden watch will lead to the uncovering of the Pandavas' secret.
