समुत्पेतुर् अथाकाशं सुपर्णाद्याः पतत्रिणः ॥
गरुडा वज्रसदृशैः पक्षतुण्डनखैस् तथा ॥
प्रहर्तुकामाः संपेतुर् आकाशात् कृष्णपाण्डवौ ॥
तथैवोरगसंघाताः पाण्डवस्य समीपतः ॥
उत्सृजन्तो विषं घोरं निश्चेरुर् ज्वलिताननाः ॥

译文

"Seeing that fire guarded by the two Krishnas, the ones grown proud then soared up into the sky, the birds headed by the suparnas; the garudas, with wings, beaks and claws like the vajra, wishing to strike, rushed down from the sky upon Krishna and the Pandava; likewise hosts of nagas near the Pandava, emitting terrible venom, crept forth with blazing mouths."

注释

Here creatures of the sky and of the depths rise up together against the two heroes. It is significant that both the mighty garudas and the nagas attack: all of nature rises against the protectors of the fire. Those shielded by the Lord are besieged from every side, yet not overcome. Thus the scripture reveals the onslaught of the creatures; and before it Nara and Narayana will stand firm.
