तरुणी दर्शनीयासि समर्था भर्तुर् एषणे ॥
अनुगच्छ स्वभर्तारं पुत्रान् आप्स्यसि शोभनान् ॥
वयम् अप्य् अग्निम् आविश्य लोकान् प्राप्स्यामहे शुभान् ॥
अथास्मान् न दहेद् अग्निर् आयास् त्वं पुनर् एव नः ॥

"You are young, comely, capable of seeking a new husband; follow your husband; you will find good sons again; as for us, entering the fire, we shall attain blessed worlds; but if the fire does not burn us, you will return to us again."

Here the children face death with faith and without fear. It is telling that they think of death as the gateway to 'blessed worlds': faith in a good fate after death takes away its terror. Also telling is their concern for their mother — that she should live and find happiness. Thus is revealed an equanimity before death, born of faith. So the scripture shows the fearlessness of the fledglings; and their hope rests on the higher worlds.
