Here, in the procession of kings, are named grandfather Shantanu and Pandu himself, father of Yudhishthira. It is significant how comforting this word is for the son: his father dwells in the bright abode of the righteous. Thus the scripture reveals good news amid the roll call; and the list draws to a close.
