译文

Indra said: 'This whole imperishable universe, O gods, is pervaded by Vritra. There is nothing that could match him in resisting him. Formerly I was capable, but now I am not. What good can I do for you? I consider him unassailable. Mighty and magnanimous, possessed of immeasurable strength in battle, he will be able to devour all three worlds together with the gods, asuras, and men. Therefore listen, O celestials, to this decision of mine. Going to the abode of Vishnu, together with that great-souled Being, we must take counsel and find out how to kill this merciless wretch.' Shalya continued: 'Having said this, Indra, together with the gods and the host of rishis, went to the mighty god Vishnu, to take shelter under this protector of all.
