गच्छध्वं सर्षिगन्धर्वा यत्रासौ विश्वरूपधृक् ॥
साम तस्य प्रयुञ्जध्वं तत एनं विजेष्यथ ॥
भविष्यति गतिर् देवाः शक्रस्य मम तेजसा ॥
अदृश्यश् च प्रवेक्ष्यामि वज्रम् अस्यायुधोत्तमम् ॥
गच्छध्वम् ऋषिभिः सार्धं गन्धर्वैश् च सुरोत्तमाः ॥
वृत्रस्य सह शक्रेण संधिं कुरुत माचिरम् ॥
शल्य उवाच
एवम् उक्तास् तु देवेन ऋषयस् त्रिदशास् तथा ॥
ययुः समेत्य सहिताः शक्रं कृत्वा पुरःसरम् ॥
समीपम् एत्य च तदा सर्व एव महौजसः ॥
तं तेजसा प्रज्वलितं प्रतपन्तं दिशो दश ॥
gacchadhvaṃ sarṣigandharvā yatrāsau viśvarūpadhṛk ||
sāma tasya prayuñjadhvaṃ tata enaṃ vijeṣyatha ||
bhaviṣyati gatir devāḥ śakrasya mama tejasā ||
adṛśyaś ca pravekṣyāmi vajram asyāyudhottamam ||
gacchadhvam ṛṣibhiḥ sārdhaṃ gandharvaiś ca surottamāḥ ||
vṛtrasya saha śakreṇa saṃdhiṃ kuruta māciram ||
śalya uvāca
evam uktās tu devena ṛṣayas tridaśās tathā ||
yayuḥ sametya sahitāḥ śakraṃ kṛtvā puraḥsaram ||
samīpam etya ca tadā sarva eva mahaujasaḥ ||
taṃ tejasā prajvalitaṃ pratapantaṃ diśo daśa ||
Thus you shall succeed in overthrowing him. By my power, O gods, Indra shall win the victory, for, remaining invisible, I shall enter his thunderbolt, that best of weapons. O foremost of the gods, go together with the rishis and gandharvas. Let there be no delay in establishing peace between Indra and Vritra.' Shalya continued: 'When he had said this, the rishis and the celestials placed Indra at their head and, having gathered together, departed. Drawing near, they beheld Vritra blazing and magnificent, as if scorching the ten quarters, engulfing all three worlds, and resembling the sun or the moon. Then the Rishis approached Vritra and addressed him in conciliatory words, saying: 'O unconquerable being, this whole universe is pervaded by your energy.
