The long praise of Arjuna closes the king's prayer: valor, mastery of weapons, unyielding fierceness, a lion's bearing. And all of it is crowned by the confident "dviṣataḥ te haniṣyati", "he will slay your enemies." It is significant that after exalting the charioteer (Krishna), the king also exalts the warrior (Arjuna): both -- the Lord and the devotee -- are needed for victory. The verse teaches that reliance on God does not deny the worth of His instrument: the Lord conquers through the devotee, and praise of the faithful servant is itself an extension of praise of the Lord acting through him.
