युधिष्ठिर उवाच
सुखेन रजनी व्युष्टा कच्चित् ते मधुसूदन ॥
कच्चिज् ज्ञानानि सर्वाणि प्रसन्नानि तवाच्युत ॥
संजय उवाच
वासुदेवो ऽपि तद् युक्तं पर्यपृच्छद् युधिष्ठिरम् ॥
ततः क्षत्ता प्रकृतयो न्यवेदयद् उपस्थिताः ॥

译文
"Has the night passed happily for you, O Madhusudana? Are all your faculties clear and serene, O Achyuta?" Vasudeva, too, asked Yudhishthira that same fitting question in return. Then the gatekeeper announced the arrival of the assembled nobles.

The day begins with friends caring for one another: the king asks after the Lord's peace, and the Lord asks after his. It is significant that the concern runs both ways -- "paryapṛcchat... tat yuktam" -- and Krishna puts to him the same fitting question in return. Friendship with God is not a one-sided petition but a living mutuality. The verse teaches that closeness to the Lord breathes with plain human warmth: the devotee cares for His peace, and He answers in kind; and the greatest communion with God begins with a sincere "are you well?", in which love precedes every request.
