ताकास् तु मीक्ष्यै वृष्ण्यन्धकुरूत्तमौ
प्राग् त्वरञ् जिघांन्तस् थै वियः रान्
सुर्णचित्रैर् वैयाघ्रैः स्वद्भिर् हाथैः
दीन्तो दिशः र्वा ज्वद्भिर् पाकैः
रुक्मपृष्ठैश् दुष्प्रेक्ष्यैः कार्मुकैः पृथिवीते
कूद्भिर् तुलान् नादान् रोषितैर् गैर्

सुवर्णचित्रैः वैयाघ्रैःsuvarṇacitraiḥ vaiyāghraiḥgold-patterned, tiger-[striped]; adorned with gold, of tiger [trim]
स्वनवद्भिः महारथैःsvanavadbhiḥ mahārathaiḥthundering great chariots; rumbling chariots of the maharathas
दीपयन्तः दिशः सर्वाःdīpayantaḥ diśaḥ sarvāḥilluminating all quarters; lighting up all directions
ज्वलद्भिः इव पावकैःjvaladbhiḥ iva pāvakaiḥas if with blazing fires; as though with flaring flame
रुक्मपृष्ठैः च दुष्प्रेक्ष्यैःrukmapṛṣṭhaiḥ ca duṣprekṣyaiḥand gold-backed, hard to look upon; and with gilded backs, at which it is hard to gaze
कार्मुकैः पृथिवीपतेkārmukaiḥ pṛthivīpatewith bows, O lord of the earth; with bows, O sovereign of the earth
कूजद्भिः अतुलान् नादान्kūjadbhiḥ atulān nādānringing with incomparable sounds; emitting an unmatched roar
रोषितैः उरगैः इवroṣitaiḥ uragaiḥ ivalike enraged serpents; as though furious snakes
译文

But your [warriors], the moment they caught sight of the best of the Vrishnis-Andhakas and Kurus, rushed forward, eager to kill -- and Vijaya likewise rushed upon the foes. With thundering great chariots of the maharathas, gold-patterned and tiger-striped, lighting up all quarters as if with blazing fires, and with gold-backed bows hard to look upon, O lord of the earth, which rang with incomparable sounds like enraged serpents.
