तमसा चावकीर्यन्त सूर्यश् च कलुषो ऽभवत् ॥
संपतन्ति च भूतानि क्रव्यादानि प्रहृष्टवत् ॥
देवदानवगन्धर्वास् त्रस्ता आसन् विशां पते ॥
कथं कथाभवत् तीव्रा दृष्ट्वा तद् व्याकुलं महत् ॥
व्यथिताः सर्वराजानस् तदा ह्य् आसन् विचेतसः ॥
तद् दृष्ट्वा घोररूपं तु द्रौणेर् अस्त्रं भयावहम् ॥

译文

And darkness spread over [the quarters], and the sun grew dim; and flesh-eating creatures gathered as if rejoicing. Gods, danavas, and gandharvas were struck with fear, O lord of the people; "what is this, what?" arose in sharp turmoil at the sight of that great confusion. All the kings then were distressed and lost their senses, having seen that terrible-formed, fear-bringing weapon of Drauni.
