यो ऽद्यानाथ इवाक्रम्य पार्षतेन हतस् तथा ॥

गुरुं मे यत्र पाञ्चाल्यः केशपक्षे परामृशत् ॥
तन् न जातु क्षमेद् द्रौणिर् जानन् पौरुषम् आत्मनः ॥
उपचीर्णो गुरुर् मिथ्या भवता राज्यकारणात् ॥
धर्मज्ञेन सता नाम सो ऽधर्मः सुमहान् कृतः ॥
yo 'dyānātha ivākramya pārṣatena hatas tathā ||
karmaṇā sunṛśaṃsena tasya nātho vyavasthitaḥ ||
guruṃ me yatra pāñcālyaḥ keśapakṣe parāmṛśat ||
tan na jātu kṣamed drauṇir jānan pauruṣam ātmanaḥ ||
upacīrṇo gurur mithyā bhavatā rājyakāraṇāt ||
dharmajñena satā nāma so 'dharmaḥ sumahān kṛtaḥ ||
"[Drona,] who now, as though defenseless, was slain so cruelly by the son of Prishata — his avenger [Ashvatthaman] now stands ready. Where the son of Panchala seized my teacher by the lock of his hair — that Drauni, aware of his own manhood, will never forgive. My teacher was falsely deceived by you for the sake of the kingdom; you, a knower of dharma, have committed that great unrighteousness."

Arjuna spares not even his royal brother: "my teacher was deceived by you for the sake of the kingdom." It is significant how sharp the charge is — "being a knower of dharma," Yudhishthira committed adharma: the sin of one who knows the law and breaks it is heavier still. The verse teaches that knowledge of dharma does not excuse its violation but aggravates it; and one reputed righteous falls further than a simple man, for he has betrayed not ignorance but the very light he carried.
