सहयज्ञाः प्रजाः सृष्ट्वा पुरोवाच प्रजापतिः ।
अनेन प्रसविष्यध्वमेष वोऽस्त्विष्टकामधुक् ॥

Transliteration (IAST)

sahayajñāḥ prajāḥ sṛṣṭvā purovāca prajāpatiḥ |
anena prasaviṣyadhvam eṣa vo 'stv iṣṭakāmadhuk ||

Translation

“At the beginning of creation, the Lord of all beings [Brahmā], having created generations of men and demigods together with sacrifices, told them: ‘Prosper through this yajña! May it be for you a cow that yields all your desires.’”
