Translation

[Yudhishthira:] "Just as many chariots — with golden fittings, bannered, furnished with well-trained horses and charioteers skilled in varied combat, where each one receives pay up to a thousand, monthly wages, whether he fights or not." To Pritha's son thus speaking, the evil-minded [Shakuni], harboring an old enmity, said only: "Won!" [Yudhishthira:] "[And] the tittiri-kalmasha horses, of gandharva breed, gold-garlanded, that the pleased Chitraratha gave to Arjuna, the wielder of Gandiva." Hearing this, Shakuni, having resorted to deceit, said only: "Won!"
