Vaishampayana said: "These great charioteers, longing for Dhananjaya, lived in that forest together with Draupadi. One day they saw the great god-sage Narada, blazing with brahmanic splendor, equal to a blazing fire. Surrounded by his brothers, the glorious Kuru, Yudhishthira, shone like Shatakratu among the gods. As Savitri never abandons the Vedas, so the faithful Yajnaseni, by dharma, never abandoned the Parthas, as sunlight never abandons Meru. Having accepted this honor, the blessed sage Narada consoled the son of Dharma and said: 'Speak, best of the keepers of dharma: what do you desire, what shall I give you?' Yudhishthira, bowing together with his brothers, joined his palms and said: 'If you are pleased, honored by all the worlds, I consider everything already accomplished by your grace. But if I am worthy of your favor, dispel the doubt in my heart. What is the complete fruit for one who circumambulates the earth, devoted to the tirthas? Tell me this, O Brahmin.'"

Longing for Arjuna leads Yudhishthira to the question of pilgrimage. When outward action is impossible, the path itself can become a purification of both space and heart.
