संजय उवाच
दुःशासनबलं हत्वा सव्यसाची धनंजयः ॥
सिन्धुराजं परीप्सन् वै द्रोणानीकम् उपाद्रवत् ॥
स तु द्रोणं समासाद्य व्यूहस्य प्रमुखे स्थितम् ॥
कृताञ्जलिर् इदं वाक्यं कृष्णस्यानुमते ऽब्रवीत् ॥

saṃjaya uvāca
duḥśāsanabalaṃ hatvā savyasācī dhanaṃjayaḥ ||
sindhurājaṃ parīpsan vai droṇānīkam upādravat ||
sa tu droṇaṃ samāsādya vyūhasya pramukhe sthitam ||
kṛtāñjalir idaṃ vākyaṃ kṛṣṇasyānumate 'bravīt ||

Translation

Having slain Duhshasana's army, Savyasachin Dhananjaya, wishing to reach the king of Sindhu, rushed toward Drona's array. Having approached Drona, who stood at the head of the array, with joined palms, and with Krishna's permission, he spoke this word.
