तद् दृष्ट्वा तादृशं युद्धं द्रोपाण्डयोस् दा
वासुदेवो हाबुद्धिः कार्यत्ताम् चिन्तयत्
तो ऽब्रवीद् वासुदेवो नंयम् दं चः
पार्थ पार्थ हाबाहो नः कालात्ययो वेत्
द्रोणम् त्सृज्य च्छामः कृत्यम् तन् त्तरम्
पार्थश् चाप्य् ब्रवीत् कृष्णं थेष्टम् ति के

tad dṛṣṭvā dṛśaṃ yuddhaṃ droṇaṇḍavayos ta ||
sudevo mabuddhiḥ ryavattām acintayat ||
tato 'brad vāsudevo dhanaṃjayam idaṃ vacaḥ ||
rtha rtha maho na naḥ tyayo bhavet ||
droṇam utsṛjya gacchāmaḥ kṛtyam etan mahattaram ||
rthaś cāpy abrat kṛṣṇaṃ yatheṣṭam iti keśava ||

Translation

Having seen that battle between Droṇa and the Pāṇḍava, Vāsudeva of great intellect thought about the importance of the task. Then Vāsudeva said this word to Dhanañjaya: "Pārtha, Pārtha, O mighty-armed one, let us not lose time; let us leave Droṇa and go on — this task is more important." And Pārtha said to Kṛṣṇa: "As you wish, O Keśava."
