Here even this unprecedented union proceeds in due order and sequence. It is telling that each brother is joined to her on his own day, by seniority: even what is exceptional is arranged with propriety, without confusion or disorder. What is holy does not tolerate neglect of order: what is sanctified from above is likewise accomplished harmoniously. Thus the verse shows the orderliness of the marriage; and the unity of the brothers is preserved by this very arrangement.
